was born after a group of women from San Angelo, Texas attended a national
Women of Faith Conference in the Spring of 2007. The Women of Faith
Conference was such a blessing, that one of the women attending came back
with a feeling in her heart that there was a need for a quality Christian women’s
conference locally. She looked at this as an opportunity to provide a conference
for women who might not be able to travel to other cities for Christian women’s
conferences and to “bridge the gap” between local and larger, national
conferences. She knew that if this was to happen, she would have to depend
on God to guide her and on great friends to join her mission. This would be a
big task, but a ministry to which she was committed.

She gathered two friends around her that brought different gifts to the table
and who were also committed to women’s ministry. It was important to all
three women that they let God guide them in this process and that the event
that was to unfold would be to God’s glory and not their own. During lunch one
day, after being in prayer together, “Women in the Light” was born!

The first “Women in the Light” conference was held in October of 2007 and the
organizers have been encouraged ever since the first conference to “do it
again”. God blessed the women who attended and those women who worked
together to see it to fruition.

Both Brenda Stone and Lori Francks are committed to allowing God to work
through them to provide a quality event for women that will enrich them and
give them a day, set apart, to come and feel the love of God in a profound way.
Their prayer is that the women who attend “Women in the Light” conferences
will experience the love of Jesus Christ through the speakers, the music, the
worship, the fellowship with other women, the hospitality, and the love that our
Lord and Saviour has for each and everyone of us!

The design team is looking forward to “Women in the Light 2009 - Resting in
the Potter’s Hands”.
